I recently checked a box on my bucket list. In the early 1960s my dad had a couple Winchester Model 61s in .22 Magnum. They were only made for 4 years, 1960-63. He took me out many times hunting ground squirrels with them. The outcome of hitting one of them with a .22 WMR 40 grain hollow point was spectacular. Unfortunately he sold those rifles before I could end up with one of them. I found this almost perfect one recently. I just had my first opportunity to take it out and it shoots just like I remember from close to 60 years ago.
