Everyone is curious about when their gun was made or shipped.
Picked up a Buckmark on G.B. Dealer had more than 1. They are in current Browning listings. It came with all the normal stuff, because it is new in box. Was surprised to see shell casing date. Was 2009. Kind of hard to believe that guns can just sit somewhere for going on 12 years. Bob

Since the shell casing is dated 2009, I'd assume the pistol was made around that time. The dealer could've bought old inventory, or even a gun that sat unfired in someone's collection.

I think that was the second style of grip that was offered, and both styles remained in production. IIRC, the recoil spring, guide rod, and buffer changed on all models, even the ones with the traditional grips, when the style pictured was first offered. At some point, the take down screw also changed from a flathead to a hex; which makes a lot more sense given the location and lack of clearance when using a regular screwdriver.

I never understood, or cared for, the gold colored trigger, but they're good guns!

The dealer had multiple units of that model so I doubt that it was from someones collection. Could have been sitting in a dealer's stock. Obviously It sat somewhere since 2009. Take down fasteners are allen head.
Owned a Ruger 22/45. Was a good shooting gun. Nightmare to put back together after cleaning. Many of the new Rugers are polymer grip frame. Not a fan of that. I have shot a friends of mine's Victory. They shoot well.
Just wanted to try the Browning. We shall see. Bob

Could of been at a wholesale distributor where they sat.

Buckmark sales lag behind the Ruger Mark pistol.

It seems like whenever there is a post asking for a recommendation on a .22 LR pistol, the thread is dominated by the Ruger, and S&W... hardly any mention of the Buckmark.

As for guns sitting on a shelf for an extended period of time, my S&W 4566 spent 10 years sitting at the factory, before being shipped in 2009.
