A deal was posted on the Oklahoma Shooter's Association forum that Bud's had Fiocchi slugs on sale. About a dozen or so members, including myself, ordered. Everyone that ordered received 1/8 of the total number of rounds ordered, classic bait and switch tactic. Bud's said there was a mistake, and the online round count was incorrect. I was charged for 34.6 lbs shipping based on the number I ordered. My Fedex package weighed less than 5 lbs. After calling Bud's, all anyone got was slightly more than a brush off. They will take the items back and pay postage after a call to the company and 2 emails. Some that ordered live miles from the nearest UPS/Fedex drop as they won't pick up residential, and Fedex/UPS stores will not accept ammo for shipping. It must go to a main office/terinal. Everyone returning will be out time and money (especially with gas being so high) with not even an apology but a statement of "I understand your upset" response.

In the future Budsgunshop.com will carry the phrase "caveat emptor". I will not do business with them again.

Great. I was one of them that put in a big order. Guess I will see what I get in the mail today. I guess I need to go see what the guys on OSA are screaming, I haven't looked at the thread yet.

It's disappointing, for sure. I will add them to the list of companies not to deal with.

Over the years I have done a lot business with Buds and have noticed a downward spiral in the service and increase in prices in the last couple of years. I no longer deal with them.

They really need to do better in terms of customer service. This is why I am always discouraged to shop for things online.

On my first Gun order from Buds they sent my Revolver to the wrong FFL.
I have ordered a few things from them with no problems.

Looking at the thread on OSA, Bud's is definitely behaving in a way that emphasizes just how little they care about customer service.

I can handle a mistake, but I can't handle a company playing dumb and trying to pass their mistake off to the customer to eat. Own up, make it right.

I read the original ad, wasn't that a "too good to be true" price?

I thought it was dirt cheap, but Bud's is known for loss-leader types of advertising. They have blown out inventory in the past to generate visitors to their business. I've had friends who bought bulk ammo from them really cheap before and got what they expected.

I ordered 30 round Promag AR15 magazines at $2 dollars each from an online retailer. They showed up just as stated.

Pre pandemic, I ordered 3 cases of 6300 rounds Federal golden bullet for $135/case.

I bought 2 cases of 357 sig Federal Ballisticlean from Midway USA at $200/1000 when everywhere else it was $350/1000.

Too good to be true deals are out there all the time on closeouts, production overruns, loss leader specials.

As far as customer service goes, I ordered from Natchez some 44 mag ammo. They were advertised as 50 round boxes, but came in as 25 round boxes. They shipped me another order of 25 round boxes after I called.

Centerfire systems double shipped an order of 3 AK parts kits. I got 3 kits in the first delivery and 3 kits the next day when I only ordered 3 kits. They said keep them and not worry about shipping them back.

That is how you own a mistake.

That is the problem with posting shop X has product Y for sale. I see it with primers. If someone is actively searching for a product let them find it. If a deal shows up in print share it. If it shows up on the net check it out thoroughly.

Can't speak to the specific situation, but have used Bud's for firearms several times and was satisfied. For some places, the only way you are going to get what you want is internet.

I used to order from Buds, but they ceased to be competitive. They did have a convenience factor in the online ordering process, but others caught up and became just as convenient. I would guess that changes in management and the overwhelming demand for guns and related stuff has bogged down every online firearms retailer. Everyone is stretched too thin.

I've gotten a few things last few years from Buds. Always got what I ordered although sometimes took awhile.

I know Hickok45 and I like him a lot. He's one hell of a fine pistol shot, too.

You sound jealous. How does Hickok45's youtube gig affect you?

Never jealous of a paid shill......I have my own gun range and skeet field. And lots of stuff to use on each.....I don't need to watch others use theirs.
