Been a while since I had a Model 10 and I figured I'd give Buds a shot. If it's trash I'll refuse delivery. I bought one of the 3" Model 10's a few years back and it was in pretty nice shape. Stupidly, I sold it. Now that I'm into reloading I wanna have more than one 38 to shoot (I have a really nice 67-1).

Let us know how you like it. I bought a 10-11 from Buds a couple years ago. Its a bit beat up, but shoots good. Reloading makes shooting more fun.

Will do. I'm a bit nervous as to how it looks. I expect it to be 70-80% like the ad says. Anything beyond "may have light rust" and I'm refusing delivery.

I have ordered 2 M10's, a M64 and a M65 police trades from Bud's. I am very happy with the 38's but I had to refuse the 65. The stainless was very pitted and the pistol was loose. I refused it and Bud's sent a label to take it back and gave me a full refund. Other than a wasted trip to the FFL and a little disappointment, it was all pretty painless.

Good to know. Did they give you trouble with the refund? Try to make you take a replacement?

My son and I got some of the M10-10s from Buds a few years ago and they were both nice and tight but showed considerable bluing wear and worn grips.

Overall they are very solid guns and mechanically sound.

I got three M64 from an outfit in Texas for $199 a couple of months ago, $ 237 with shipping and all fees, and one had an issue that I could fix with the help and knowledgeable advice of our member Alk8944 here on this forum. Return shipments are not the only solution to handling a minor problem.

No trouble at all. I'm not sure whether that was due to the fact that they were out of 65's but they didn't even mention a substitute. I put it on a card so it took 4 or 5 days for the refund to hit and they also refunded the shipping insurance.

Buds does not guarantee 10's for appearance, but for function only. They are stating what the condition might be. Knowing that as a buyer I don't know why Buds would give a refund. (I have bought 6 or so guns from them) They 10-8 I got there had blue wear. Great shooter! They are a good outfit to deal with in my book! Bob

The 10's I saw on display @ Bud's were in VERY rough shape cosmetically. Did not handle them so don't know about lockup.

The ones I saw would have been 50% or less finish wise.

In a weak moment last year, I ordered a Bud's used Aussie M10-8, 4" HB, RB.
Actually much better shape than I expected. Cleaned up nice and makes a great shooter and carry piece.

Buds is great about refunds. They don't pressure you to get something else but give you that option. If they didn't give me the option to refuse something at the FFL, I would never order anything used from them. I suspect others are the same, thus Buds sort of has to do it to continue selling used items. I am considering the Model 10 myself. All the recent feedback has been good on them, but I know Murphy is always lurking ready to strike somewhere.

I got it almost 2 weeks agoBetter than I expected. Finish wear is pretty much limited to the barrel. No rust or pitting. Functions nice. I'd say 80% condition. But I might get it refinished eventually. Can't help it. Just like my guns to look nice and the model 10-8 will never be a collectible. I was toying with the idea of a cold blue touch up using Oxpho Blue, but I think I'm gonna notice the touch up as much as I notice the blueing loss.

I bought a brand new 2" 10-11, my first-ever .38, from CDNN - for $280 + $10 s/h - via USPS! Of course, that was 9/03... in the 'good old days'. I should have bought several... at least two - my wife long ago 'acquired' that revolver!

Enjoy today's 'finds' - it won't be long until these are the 'good old days'! Hind sight...
