Anyone use this out of 2.5 or 3 inch K frames for carry? Any test on velocity, etc.? Thanks.

I guess no responses means nobody has used this ammo. I will try this or next week (out of 686-3 or 686-6, maybe out of a 66-3 also) and report back.

Hey, wait, I use it...in my 66-2 2.5" & it is very tolerable & accurate...I haven't shot it in the dark, but it's flash suppressed & the report really is not as bad. I get it w\ my Cabelas coupons they send in the mail...About a buck a round.

Thanks. I tried today out of a 2.5 inch 686+ and thought it was soft shooting and very accurate and consistent. (Shot 7 rounds). I will try out of 66 2.5 inch too since your post.

Which JHP

Dores BB say which JHP they use for this round?

The Buffalo Bore® 38 Special+P 158gr LSWCHPGC has the same ballistics. Makes this 357 Magnum load kind of redundant I feel; but to each his own.

Thanks, I will check out the 38+P. Does seem weird except perhaps that the 357 will not leave the ring in the cylinder.

The bullet in my boxes is not the Speer Gold Dot, it is a classic SJHP lead nose.

Edit: Checked out on BB website. The 357 load is about 20% more foot lbs. The BB web shows what appears to be A Gold Dot modern HP bullet. However, when I ordered from Midway or Cabelas, I received loads with SJHP bullets as I described earlier.

Then the bullet may be a Sierra Sports Master. I know that's what they were using in the 140gr load when I last bought some.

buffalo bore

i have never used the buffalo bore ammo, but i load a 158 grain lead bullet at 1200fps in all my .357 revolvers.
