Buffer tube question

Hi everyone, I have an AR-15 with a commercial diameter bufffer tube. Will a mil spec tube screw into the same lower and use the same castle nut? Thank you in advance.

Before you unscrew the original buffer tube, pay very, very close attention to it's position with respect to the buffer retainer plunger (widget that keeps the buffer & spring in place when you hinge the upper upward). When you install the new tube that retainer must be removable but not pop out when you hinge the upper forward.

Maybe put a piece of tape at the leading edge of the current tube to act as a reference.
