bulk .22 comparison

M&P 15-22 manual:

Through our testing, Smith & Wesson has also found that there are several brands and types of .22LR ammunition that do not perform consistently or reliably. Consequently, Smith & Wesson DOES NOT RECOMMEND that the following brands or types of .22LR ammunition be used in your M&P15-22 rifle:

• Remington Golden Bullet • Remington Thunderbolt
• Remington Target 22 • Winchester Wildcat
• Any and all sub-sonic brands and types

That is true, but if one reads through the threads here, one will find that there are many shooters who have no problems with the above ammo - about as many as say they do.

This proves just one thing: every firearm is a law unto itself as far as what ammo it likes best. The only way to know is to shoot several brands and draw one's own conclusions.

Remington's worked well in my son in laws 15-22 but are so dirty it is unreal. His hands were covered from loading the mags and after firing them the gun was real nasty.

We shoot Federal's and Blazer's. The Blazers are $20 a box in Little Rock.
