Received an email from midsouth they are running a sale on blemished bullets. I reviewed the video they have describing that the worst blemish on the bullets are water spots. For the price they advertised I decided to try them and order 1k 44cal jacketed and 1k 38cal jacketed hollow point.

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with these blemished bullets from midsouth reloading

The bullets arrived today so I randomly removed a few for inspection. I can not see any blemishes or even a water spot. A++++

Performance is first rate, affordable bullets, can you accept bullet acne?

EDIT: If you burn through 400 rounds per day shooting prairie dogs for 6 days in varying wind directions blowing 20 MPH, a little tarnish is ok. Mirrored perfection not required.

OMG no! They would never be accurate in my trimmed-to-exact-length, primer pocket-uniformed, flash-hole uniformed and blindingly polished brass. At seven yards.

Bullet Acne does not bother me nor the targets I shoot at. I normally only reload lead in 38 and 44. I'm guessing these blems will still be shinier than my lead reloads.

I think the statement "performance is first rate" explains it all. Thanks for the information

After you get them, post a few photo's so the rest of us can see these "blemishes", I have seen them for sale but have no idea exactly what constitutes a blemish in their eyes. Thanks

I don't care much what cast bullets look like, as long as they're the right diameter, the right weight, and they're already lubed. Jacketed pistol bullets are the same to me.

Now rifle bullets are a different thing altogether.

I don't know what Midsouth Shooters considers blemished but I have bought blemished bullets from Midway and Shooter's Pro Shop and in all cases the "blemish" was slightly discolored cases as in not all shinny like the retail bullets. There has never been any physical damage, it's always been cosmetic. I really don't care what they look like as long as they shoot well, not that you could tell they were off a little on the color or had a few spots from a foot away.

The ones I got from them were .44s too & there wasn't anything wrong with them that I could see. They were JHPs but they didn't have the slits/folds that hollow-points usually have, kind of like their HAP bullets, but fine for target shooting.

I would buy nothing but blemished bullets, assuming I could find what I wanted in them and the price was discounted.
