The so-called Westboro Baptist Church, Well known for picketing the funerals of our American military personnel killed in action, has announced that it's founder and leader, Fred Phelps(84) died on Wednesday 19 Mar 2014. The WBC was founded by Phelps in 1955 and mounted over 53,000 demonstrations over the years. The anti-American group, consisting predominantly of relatives of Phelps, has been well known in recent years for staging mostly it's women and children at the burial ceremonies of our Fallen Warriors and harassing the bereaved families on the worst day of their lives. The protesters routinely attempt to interrupt the procedings with anti-military verbal taunts and signs with messages such as "thank God for dead soldiers" and "God hates soldiers" and other vile insults. Unfortunately, this hate group intends to carry on Phelp's (choke!!) legacy.

Bye, bye Phelps, hope you left wearing your flame-proof suit.

The threads about Fred get locked real quick around here. I imagine there were plenty of vets at the pearly gates to forgive him. Then he had to stand before St. Peter and explain himself. Hah!

God bless our troops. And the real heroes who gave it there all and paid the ultimate price. God bless people the the CEO of Starbucks for donating money and setting up a program for our wounded warriors.
May God bless our vets and there families they all gave up a part of there lives to support our nation.

For the anti's this is a family forum so I can't express my feelings.

Remember to thank a vet from any war or peace time they served in. They didn't have to do it. I thank you all for serving.

This thread might quickly go political or religious. I won't help it do that. I also as a general rule don't care to speak ill of the dead, not least because they've had to go through at minimum one tough thing none of the rest of us have had to yet. And there are plenty out there I'd pick to see slip the mortal coils ahead of one hateful loudmouth...

...but that being said...

...good riddance to bad rubbish.

I had some interaction with Fred and his group once. Let's just say he was not a pleasant person. My suspicion is that his group won't last very long now that he's gone.

Well I knew who he was but never knew his name.
Funny thing about religion. Everyone thinks they are right and the other guy is wrong and nobody dies thinking they're going anywhere but up.
I guess we'll just have to let Him figure it all out as it is above our pay grade.
Whew!! Beat thread lock! :D

The sad thing is hate can take root even in the most infertile of places.
