Welcome to the Forum! My condolences for the loss of your Dad. It sounds like you've probably inherited a Model 10-6 (.38 Military & Police) that was manufactured in 1967, but it could also be one of several other K-frame models (Model 12-2, or Aircrewman). Yours is one of the last in the C-prefix series, which changed to the D-prefix series in 1968. Some models and variations are much more rare and valuable than others, so we really need some additional information to help you ID your revolver. What is the length of the barrel? Are there any other markings on the grip frame or in the cylinder yoke area when the cylinder is swung open (Model no.)? Is the barrel stamped ".38 Special CTG"? If you could post a couple of pictures that would help immensely.
