Here is another find which I discovered in my Dad's collection which I had either overlooked or thought was something else.

K-38 Masterpiece (according to the brochure in the box)
Type: Hand Ejector
SN: 8 K84867
Caliber: 38 Special
Barrel Length: 6 inches
Sights: Adjustable.

I have the box, brochure and other items as well as what appears to be the original grip as seen in the pics below.

Looking for manufacture date and an idea of an appropriate asking price for the revolver.

Thanks again in advance for any provided information.

Well, the stocks are presentation type and don't appear to be typical target type.
The front sight may have had the red plastic added later.
If it is mint state in collector's condition, it could render $950 plus. If it is truly all original as designated by the box label, then a bit more. If it shows signs of having been shot alot but still in swell condition, then whatever a buyer is willing to pay in that ballpark. Alot also depends on your demographics and gun laws

Ser# shows 1975…..and I agree, with box and smooth target stocks, th/tt-at least $950, probably more depending on who wants it bad enough….I would probably go $1000 if I was looking for that model, and I'm sure some folks may go $1200 or $1300….sure is a honey.

….there may be something I am not aware of regarding model 14-3s' and their chronology, but this is where I saw the ser# info I referenced….

First, it is a K-38 Masterpiece Model 14-3 from 1977. 8K serial numbers 8K80001 to 8K99999 were 1977 numbers.

The stocks are not correct, but since the box indicates target stocks, it would have had checkered walnut targets, no diamond and the football extractor relief.
