CA Anti-Gun Legislation

I never understood their justification anyhow...

CA legislatures keep saying that we need more gun control in the light of the events happened in Newtown, CT...

Isn't it a good indicator that these events didn't take place in CA that our current system is working OK?

I will understand if CT legislature try toughening their laws in CT; but what's happening to CA legislature?

It's like saying there are many high speed accidents happening in German AutoBahns, therefore in America we will drop the top speed limit to 50 mph.
What the heck CT crime got to do with CA laws?

If there was a mass murder epidemic in CA then I can understand (while not approving) their efforts.

But why CA legislature acting like all these crimes are committed because the lack of CA gun laws?
What is the California's gun laws' role in Newtown or Columbine or other school/movie theater shootings?

...and I wonder why nobody is asking that question to Mrs. Feinstein?

No one is asking that question, because the gun laws have absolutely nothing to do with crime prevention or safety issues and both sides already know that.

These repressive gun laws have to do with increasing governmental control over citizens, with the ultimate goal the total confiscation of all firearms. Only the few people not on one side or another of the issue are the target of their propaganda.

Those like Feinstein are simply using Newton, or any other event to justify their efforts. Feinsteins postion on this has been well known for decades by her own words.

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an_out_right_ban, picking up every one of them... "Mr. and Mrs.America, turn 'em all in," I would have done it. I_could_not do that. The votes weren't here." -- U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), CBS-TV's "60 Minutes," 2/5/95 Member HCI National Committee

or in the words of one of her allies:

"We're here to tell the NRA their nightmare is true!." "We're going to hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy! We're going to beat guns into submission!"
-- U.S. Rep. Charles Schumer NBC Nightly News 11/30/93

Did you know that there are actually less accidents per 100.000 on German Autobahns then on US highways with 70mph speed limits? :D

Calif also has more population than any other state.
Indeed it does. It also has a high number of cities with extraordinarily high rates of Homicide and Non-negligent Manslaughter. In 2010 the average for Homicides in California was 4.7 per 100,000 population. The U.S. average for that year was 4.8. There were 116 California cities with a rate higher than the state's average, up to 69 homicides per 100K population. The average for California is as low as it is because there were nearly three times as many cities (339) with lower than average Homicide rates.

I know approximately nothing about California or why the breakouts are the way they are. Here are those with a rate of 10.0 or more homicides per 100,000 population:

69.9 Irwindale
34.2 King City

29.4 Farmersville

26.6 Compton

24.3 Barstow

23.0 Buellton

22.0 Oakland

21.9 Waterford

20.3 Richmond

20.2 Dos Palos

19.9 Sonoma
19.7 Hawaiian Gardens

19.3 California City

19.2 Greenfield

17.8 Inglewood

16.8 Stockton

16.7 West Hollywood

16.5 Cudahy

15.6 San Bernardino

15.3 Fort Bragg

15.1 Atwater

14.9 Commerce

14.9 Vallejo1

13.8 Madera

13.8 South El Monte

13.5 Adelanto

13.2 Salinas

13.0 Fillmore

12.8 Lawndale

Most of their problem comes from the drug trade. Gangs protecting their "turf" and even the Mexican cartels sending people in to the US now and growing pot in some of the National Forests out there.

If California, and in fact all states, used all the existing laws on the books to stop the various crimes taking place you wouldn't have the murder rate you have now.

I could go on here but I might go too far and get my hands smacked again so I'll just ease out now.

Back in the late 1990s the California Department of Justice did a study of homicides in California. Approximately 85% of the homicides were gang-related. If I say anything more I will get into trouble, but use your imagination.
