CA Compliant Shield Modifications & Magguts +2 Springs

I received an email from MG today. My case was the first example of this type of malfunction and they are assuming that it was a defective part.

Replacement locking plate and baseplate are en route as a warranty replacement.
Good to hear that they are replacing the parts, but unless yours was a fluke, until they start making the base plate out of stronger material, it may just keep happening.

I just got my new spring sets yesterday and I'm not impressed by the sharp edges. I ended up with a few minor cuts while assembling the first mag. I assembled 1 with the factory Shield base plate and 1 with the new +2 base plate, just to compare the 2 setups with their original spring set.

That's pretty much what I ended up doing when the replacement arrived. I had no problems with concealing a compact pistol so I just used the two MG+2 kits on my extended mags for 10 rounds. I used the MG+1 original kit on the flush mag with the pearce pinky extension if I needed a bit more concealment.

I wasn't fond of the sharp edges on the original kits and the +2 kits either. They work and so far they're reliable for function less the damaged baseplate. I'll test these hard at the range to see if I can replicate the issue. If it happens again, I'm scrapping the +2 and going back to the standard kits.
