Cabelas Fed Bulk Ammo Deal

Wow.....that was unreal fast. I was expecting this stuff until next Tuesday, however it was sitting by the front door when I returned home this afternoon from the indoor range.

Great deal.

Had to sneak inside before my son asked too many questions. Little box was nicely weighty, promising some fun times ahead.

The litte container is nice, too. Large handle that distributes the weight nicely, not pinching at your fingers when loaded. The o-ring and clasp assure a nice & tight seal.

You can turn the bulk boxes sideways and fit 12 inside with ease. That's 6,300 rounds in one hand. I've got to keep loading up every trip to WalMart.

How did you pull of getting your before mine! Guess you live closer haha. I ordered mine on the 6th. I checked my order status and it says they shipped it out on the 10th.

I've been buying these from Cabelas since the end of last year, when I could no longer find it at local Walmarts. We order it 4,200 at a time and have about 8000 rounds in storage at the moment.

All 3 orders we've placed have been sent quickly, and packed exceptionally (each box wrapped in bubble warp, then in the ammo box, with paper to fill the extra space). I think the fact they they arrive fresh and in perfect shape makes some difference and is worth paying a little more for.

I like the boxes, but not for long term ammo storage (use military ammo cans for that, I must admit a thing for Army ammo cans:) ). If the Cabelas are heavily loaded, and you pick them up by the handle, the seal is broken due to flex in the top. If you don't move them around much and keep ammo long term these would be great (or don't live in high humidity). But I have a lot of cans stacked in a green lock box, and they get rearranged often and I buy bulk and keep some of it a long time.

We do use one of the Cabelas boxes to carry ammo to the range. I have two I use to store gun cleaning supplies and such. Two more that, ... well you get the idea, they are very useful.

It's best to buy at a deal like now, or at least wait for free shipping. With me and two boys using it (ever seen a 12 and 14 yo shooting 15-22 and Sig 522? Ammo goes fast), I like to keep at least 4000 rounds, so when we get bellow that I start looking for Cabelas to offer a deal or free shipping.

I click a few things one night, and 4 days later I find the ammo on my front porch when I get home. It couldn't be easier, I couldn't be happier, and I no longer need to go to Walmart!!:)
