In 2006 I visited a friend in Boston and we took in the exhibit "Speed, Style and Beauty. Cars from the Ralph Lauren Collection" at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. We actually visited the exhibit twice since one evening they opened the hoods so we could see the engines. I bought a 2006 calendar and it was beautiful enough that I saved it for use in another year starting on the same day. 20i7 is that year! I'm going to have a dramatic exhibit on my study wall. The cars are eye-popping, starting in January with one of only two short wheelbase Blower Bentleys built in 1929; a Bugatti Type 59 Grand Prix can built to the 750 kg formula; a Bugatti Type 57SC with Atlantic body designed by Jean Bugatti and one of only four built, of which three survive today; a Mercedes SSK from 1929; a Mercedes 300 SL (pity he couldn't have got his hands on a 300 SLR); a gaggle of Ferraris, a D-Jag, and well, you get the idea. Many of them are not available for public viewing; this exhibit was unique. I'll put the calendar away, hoping I'm still around the next time January 1st is on a Sunday.
