Caliber Chaos....

I thought I was headed towards simplicity last year when I sold my only .40 S&W and gave away the dies and components. Then the .38 Super bug bit. I think it's hopeless.

OMG! I forgot about .38 Super.....

Muss is right. I like shooting all different calibers. However, maintaining adequate quantities of ammo, including FMJ and SD ammo for each can be an expensive venture. Not to mention, trying to keep track of my inventory so I don't run out of a particular ammo at the wrong time.

As a side note, I forgot .45 ACP in my list above......

My problem is worse than I thought...

I would ditch the .40.

What will it do that the .44 or .45 won't do?

Here's my approach..... I have a supply for each of the many caliber firearms in my safe. Some supplies are much, much larger than others.
My large supplies are for the firearms that I would use in a SHTF situation. For instance, loads of .45 ACP, .556, .22LR, and 7.62X39. Other calibers are moderately stocked in the event I wish to sell a firearm in the future, and with that firearm there will be ammunition available. After all, who would want one for which there is no ammunition available? I suspect we are facing days ahead where, an M1 carbine for example, will be somewhat of a disadvantaged sale unless there is a thousand rounds of ammunition to go with it.
I recently did clean out ammo supplies for calibers I no longer need to support (e.g. 7.62X54R, .44 Mag., .45 Colt), or for which I was simply over-supplied (9MM & .45 ACP). This allowed me to pick up a few pieces that I really wanted like S&W Chiefs Special variations....
I'm sure there will be those that don't view things this way, but as we age our needs and values change.

I successfully removed .380 from my stock by selling the one .380 I had (which was not fun to shoot). Now I'm also down to one 25acp, but still like it.

Just bought a 12 gauge and have discovered the adapters on ebay... intriguing. Someone should invent something like a Jacobs chuck for ammo...

They say that the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem......

I have a problem.

When I started my journey with the joy of shooting, I got myself a nice 9mm.

Then a .40. Followed by a .357. Then .380, .44, .38, .32.... and please don't make me discus +P....

Hmm, that's a short list... 17HMR, 22lr, 22mag, 32long .32H&R, .32-20, .327 Fed, .32acp, 9mm, .38, .357, .41 mag. .44spl. .45acp, .45LC, 5.7x28, .223, 5.56, plus shotgun shells.
I'm sure others have longer lists.

But pictures are better.

Top shelf-pistols.
Bottom shelf-shotguns and rifles.

Some copies as have pistols and rifles chambered for same cartridge. Reload all except .22, .22 mag, 7.62 x 25, 7.62 x 39 and .500 BMG.
