California Law Allows Family Members to Remove Relative’s Guns for Safety

In the case of divorce, bitter wives will file a false restraining order for leverage, just as they file false abuse charges and get ROs automatically. Bitter in-laws, bitter siblings, bitter parents, will file false restraining orders. In California, when the police take your guns, most departments immediately destroy them. Even if you win your ONE appeal, your guns will most likely already be destroyed.

If it can be proven that someone filed a false RO, it is a misdemeanor, and most likely will not even be pursued. Not to mention the victim will be out the expense of an attorney just to defend against the RO.

The left has a supermajority in California. There really isn't any way to fight back against this legislation. The only thing a law abiding gun owner can do is get the hell out of this loser state, which is what I am doing in the next couple years. The fight is over here, we lost.

This piece of garbage legislation should be overturned on the first appeal!!! NAZI Germany in the 1930's: turn in your parents!!!

It didn't end there. The Stasi in east Germany officially operated until 1990.

Sad that many don't know that and now think that's the best thing since sliced bread.

Seriously, we need to change that!

It will be interesting to see what happens the first time there is an attempted action under this new law. There will certainly be some sort of appeal somewhere along the line. The original proposal would have allowed ANYBODY to apply for the restraining order and had no down side to making a false claim in order to get it. Now at least it must be a family member, somebody with some skin in the game. That does not mean they are not nasty, anti-gun or just plain stupid. There are people who honestly think that anybody who owns or even WANTS to own a gun are mentally ill in the first place.

You lose your ammo.

When they come, they take everything. Failure to disclose is a Felony.

The ammo: P.D.'s don't want to give back weapons with live ammo. Gone!

Nothing they do surprises me anymore. I escaped back in '05, best thing I've ever done.
