CA tried to dump a bunch of "reasonable restrictions" on carry locations and tried to do it on an urgency clause, which requires a super-majority. They failed by one vote.

I have been following this one closely.

The added restrictions would have nullified my permit for anything but my adventures far away from people. One of the real kickers was the prohibition of carrying in any place of business that does not display a sign saying concealed carry is permitted.

There is talk of re-introducing the bill in December. We shall see....

Sounds like NY and California have been talking behind the scenes!

It looks like the anti-gun people got a bit too over confident because of their past successes. They took it for granted this one was a winner. Oops! What's interesting and more than a little ironic to me is that the one vote that killed it was cast by a member of the group we usually associate with anti-gun legislation.

This is a classic case of chickens being counted before they've hatched. And maybe a bit of some people getting too big for their britches thrown in for good measure.
