Can A 686-2 with a 6 round cylinder, be converted
to a 7 shot?
If it can be done, how difficult is it?
Sorry if this has been covered before, but would like
to update my old service weapon.
Thanks.

The only thing needed to be done is replace the cylinder and the hand, and then have them fitted, I wouldn't try this yourself, its pretty tedious and easy to make an expensive mistake.

I'm with the "why bother" guy. Either keep it and look for a 7 shot, or trade it. I have both in the 2.5" barrel and really like them, also got a CS-1 in 3 inch, and a regular 3 inch-yeah I like the short barrels-but the best of the bunch has to be the 7 shot Mountain Gun. It will be pried from my warm dead hands, probably by one of the kids.
