Hi,I got a S&W CS45 that I am trying to date. The serial number is TDN1730 . It has night sights dated from 1999 but I'm not sure if they are factory(But I think they are).It has an ambi decocker. Thanks in advance.

Two guns, I'm not a CS expert but they started production in 1998 at serial prefix TDA. Original sights would have been white dot post and two dot rear sight. Night sights could have been an option. Is it stainless or blue? Stainless production commenced in Feb 1999.
If you have the box the product code will list the original features.

That's all I get from the SCSW as far as information.

Thanks Bruce,It is stainless.I don't think I have the factory box but I will check.Thanks a bunch

Two Guns,

You can call S&W and they can give you a date from the serial number. I have a CS45 myself that is only a few hundred lower in the serial numbers and it was a 1999 gun. The ambi-decocker gun is most likely a police trade in (should say "Caution, decocking lever automatically returns to the ready to fire position" on dustcover, right hand side). These seem to be on Gunbroker and other auction sites a lot lately.

Thanks for the info and yes it says that on the dustcover.

BTW I have yet to see another CS45 like mine with the ambi decockers. All the ones that I have seen have the safeties.
