...a big HOWDY my new S&W 617-6 a SS 10 shot .22LR? Just got home with it and can't keep my hands off it. May be a couple of days before I can go run the first 100 rounds through it. But I'll try to behave myself until then.

I've got a couple of pics of it in my phone and I'll try to put them in this thread as soon as I can get them onto the lap top or just post from my phone. Neither of them are easy but I'll do it one way or the other.

remember: you don't have to have big gun to have big fun.

One of my shooting buds picked one up pre-pandemic (February) since he enjoyed shooting my Model 18 so much. Had it a day when I came by and he'd already run through a couple of bricks of ammo with it. It is a sweet shooter.

Congratulations on finding a new love of your life. I know the feeling well. I can't tell you how many times I've heard my wife say (while rolling her eyes) "Are you going to play with that all night, sleep with it under your pillow maybe?........."

I sometimes wish I still had the 617 10 shooter I once had, but the model 28 ND I got for it in trade is still with me. And I still get the same questions from wifey-poo when I have it out to admire.

mine is great for popping clays at 50 yards.. buy all the ammo you can find.. they are fun
