You can adjust for windage by sliding the rear sight right or the front sight left. Or a combination of the two. That will move the point of impact to the right.

A lot of times with shots landing to the left it will be the way your trigger finger pushes against the trigger. With my 1911 I use the middle of the pad on my finger but with my sd9ve, sd40ve and .38 revolver I find it more accurate to use the first knuckle on the trigger.

I agree! I'm left handed and shoot to the right with ONLY this gun. You may want to use more trigger finger before adjusting the sights...

Thank you.

Almost everyone has that problem with this gun to start with.
I would give myself some time before I started move the sights.

Agree. You may be able to stop hitting to the left if you work on your technique. I often hit a little to the left -- less so, when I concentrate on using the pad of my finger rather than the joint area. Using the joint and rolling through the trigger pull is admittedly more common in revolvers, with their long trigger pull, but then the SD has a long trigger pull...

Physically moving the sights is not hard but you have to be careful not to marr the sight if you use a punch. I have had some luck with a padded vise and a small block of wood...

I owned a MGW sight pusher (the one for the M&P pistols works on the SDs) which works very well, but sold it off. You might find someone local to you who has one, and borrow it... if you use a steel punch, perhaps insert a piece of thin plastic between the punch and the sight to avoid damaging the sight...

Enjoy your new SD9!

Well, I tried something today and was shooting much much better. it still shots a lil high but at least left to right is not as far off. I feel crazy i never tried this before but it helped.
I would like to add a Red or Green Dot to the front site, is this hard to do or very costly
