I'm in the process of purchasing a S&W revolver out of state. I plan on sending it to S&W for an action job and a refinish.
The "normal" process is to have the out-of-state dealer ship it to my FFL then after I transfer it I would then send it off to S&W for the work.
However, is there anything preventing me from having the out-of-state dealer send it directly to S&W for the work, then have S&W ship it to my FFL in my state for the transfer? This would (theoretically) save me overnight shipping through FedEx/UPS. Unless of course this isn't legal.
