Can You Believe Geraldo Rivera?

I don't watch the putz and if I see him doing a story I turn him off. He has always been eat up with himself.

That makes two of us. He has an ego bigger than Texas.

No offense to Texas..

If I'm not mistaken, Gerald dough got his sorry adz thrown out of the desert for drawing a map in the sand on camera that revealed his location and the troops that he was imbedded with.

This is true, and while I am slightly entertained by his diatribes on the radio, he is the PERFECT example of why we should not have (non prior military) "war correspondents" embedded with the operational military.

I am sure he did not feel (and probability still doesn't) that he did anything wrong, but that could have gotten our boys hurt.... I don't much cotton to **** that hurts (or threatens to hurt) our troops.

To be fair, I will give "Jerry" one kudo, and that was for his investigation of Willowbrook State School on Staten Island in 1972. He exposed the horrific conditions of that snake pit, which was an institution for the mentally and physically disabled, and the horrific acts committed against these children of God by staff. Jerry got a Peabody Award for this fine piece of investigative journalism. Sadly, it took more than 8 years before that house of horrors was closed down, and the passage of a federal law, Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act of 1980.

To my eye, he doesn't look any better than Mick Jagger or Bob Dylan, although perhaps he can sing better!

In the early 80's my late big sister worked at the Mustang Ranch. Now hold on! her and her boyfriend were cooks there working seven days on and seven days off cooking for the girls. When Geraldo did his show there he walked in a room and talked to a "customer" in bed with two girls. It was my sister's boyfriend and a totally contrived scene. I don't know if Geraldo was in on it or not.
As far as political guys go now, he occasionally makes sense enough for me to kind of like him, occasionally.

I remember and watched that episode. I thought at the time that it looked fake and had some darned reporter walked in on me with (had I been in that guys place) while I was having fun? I think I would have shot him.

Hey!!!Maybe that at age 70 his brain is evolving.I couldn't believe it when he was on TV last week strongly supporting Zimmerman's right to self defense and supporting the jury decision. He claimed GZ should never have been charged and like most of us believed it was politically motivated! This is a sea change for him.Now if he would only start a "Hispanics for Zimmerman" movement and get a few votes away from the Democrats I'd like him a lot better.
