Check out this video from GunBlue490- it's mostly on disassembly / re-assembly of S&W revolvers, but the last 15 minutes or so may contain what you're looking for. I've found it to be an excellent reference.

I think my 442 has a tiny bit of endshake. My Colt DS has some too. My Model 19, no endshake that I can tell....

I wonder if that's why the colt sometimes spits some lead out the sides.....
