Someone is selling this gun locally listed as a German Revolver. I am intrigued by it--in that I can't identify what it is. He states it is a .357 Magnum and in an email said it states "Viking" on it. Which leads me to Iver's & Johnson, however, the photo doesn't look like an Iver's to me. Just another case of curiousity getting the cat.

It looks like one of the german "arminius" revolvers that used to be common about 30 years ago. I had one in 22 mag and a friend had one in 38. I think they were also sold under some other brand names by importers. They were a little better quality than the notorius "RG" line but not a high quality piece. I believe Euroarms still imports a similar revolver in 38 and 357 mag.

Looks like that mystery is solved. Thanks for the insightful input, have learned my new thing of the day.

Yes, it's an Arminius. I have one very similar with the same markings and a "Viking" stamped on the side plate. Mine is in .38 caliber and also stamped on it is "Made in Germany". Very rugged little gun, I've been shooting it for years (since it was given to me in the early 70's).

A friend had one. It was a pretty good gun, accurate, just kinda homely looking.
