My question is what do Canadians call American Bacon? Looking on the 'net I find American, Canadian and English as various types, but the only name for what we call bacon seems to be referred to as "streaky bacon" because of the streaks from the muscle and fat layers in the belly meat. There is nothing though to indicate
where the term streaky bacon is used! I have never heard that term until searching the 'net in response to reading this thread!
As to methods of cooking bacon I prefer frying but have used the micro-wave and really don't see any issue with that. Restaurants typically cook bacon in the oven as it can be controlled very consistently and with little labor that pan frying takes.
I cannot stand anything made from Turkey!

, especially ground, it smells like feathers when cooking, and tastes the same to me, really!

I concur with others observations that "if it isn't from pigs it isn't pork, whether bacon, ham, ground meat, etc.
