I have been sick the last few days and none of my normal fare sounds good.
I have not eaten canned anything for 30+ years but I sent Mrs Chukar to the store to get me some canned soup for a quick easy meal.
I tried Campbells New England clam chowder and the baked potato with cheddar cheese and bacon chunks.
First the clam chowder would leave you believing clams and flavor were both endangered species.
I opened the baked potato and warmed it, one spoonful and it went to the disposer. I didn't bother looking for the cheddar or bacon.
How do people eat this trash?
Can anybody give me a lead on a decent canned soup?

Feeling punky?? Homemade chicken soup is the answer. Make a big batch and keep some in the freezer for emergencies.

Get well soon.

BTW, there was a chicken soup recipe thread on the forum not long ago.

The regular sized canned soup that you add a can of water or milk is best Chicken Noodle , Tomato , Bean and Bacon , Beef Vegetable . The chunky Pot Roast , Chicken Noodle and Gumbo is good. Progresso soup is good also.

For easy soup moreto you liking, try some packaged broth and add table scraps. That won't take long and you know the left overs were good the first time.

My meal tonight was broth made after last Thanksgiving's feast. A hunk of white meat and loads of veggies (including zucchini of all things) Was thrown in a pot to be soup, the leftovers were frozen and became tonight's supper!

I do this. I save/freeze the carcass from rotisserie chickens. Throw it in the crockpot, cover with water, and cook on low overnight. Fish out the bones/strain it and then add veggies, spices, and a handful of egg noodles.

Some might like Panera Bread's
offering. I found it in the deli
section of my Publix. Chicken
noodle among the offerings.
I like the lobster bisque and
summer squash.

Comes in a plastic containers
with a lid and has expiration
dates usually within a few
weeks to a month.

Check your Panera outlets
or grocery stores for stocking.

Low sodium stock(chicken, beef, turkey, veggie) , put your own veggies, meat, noodles in it. Onions, celery, carrots pretty basic.

Cook noodles a little bit and drain before adding to the soup.

Make a pot for 3 days of being sick.

For canned soup you can't beat Progresso! They are really good! Maybe not quite home made but nothing else out of a can beats it. When my Wife isn't around I have no problem (and even look forward to it) by opening up a can of Progresso for lunch.

Campbell's is not even close to what it used to be IMO.

On a serious note; it's hard to beat Campbell's tomato soup and a grilled cheese when you're feeling puny.

+1
You beat me to it. I prefer adding milk instead of water to my Campbells tomato soup and havarti is my first choice for a grilled cheese sandwich. My mouth is watering as I type. Progresso is my first choice for all other canned soup.

Hope you're feeling better, OP.
