What the heck?!? None of the big auction sites have a stock 330 - now there are quite few of the WW2 era ones M8 and M73B. Does anyone have a feel for the value of the commercial scopes? Im trying to decide if its worth having the crosshairs repaired. Thanks!

Kind of a tough one, a lot of people try to get more using it as a reproduction sniper scope.
In good shape I would value it at $50-$100. And that is just my feelings on the matter!:D
I have one 330, several J2.5 and J4 and of course the one I value over the 330 are a pair of 29s scopes.
But I don't think any of them should enter the $100 value.

I admit I might be a little slow on rising values. Inflation!:)

I found one that sold for $125 and one on Guns America that sold for $295.
You are talking pre-war?
Another listed for sale for $349
Another sold one for $450

I've been receiving email (spam) from a company called Vintage Gun Scopes for over a year now. I haven't added them to my spam filter since what they are hawking is mildly interesting to me; old gun scopes. I just looked and they are showing 3 Weaver 330 scopes. Looks like the difference between them is the reticle. And looking at them, the only ones they show stock on are the ones with a crosshair reticle.

BTW, I know nothing about the company beyond what I have written above and I am no affiliated in any way with them.

Holy smokes! I am a rich man!:D
I think all 330, 29S, J2.5 are prewar.

Thanks for the replies! I think it is pre-war. I guess that I need to find out how much servicing the scope would be.
Best,
John
