Canoeguy is moving to the mountains, UPDATE, seven years later, post #42

Kamloops,

It has been seven years since we bought our house and property, we have enjoyed it immensely. The place has become a magnet for family members who enjoy shooting or just relaxing in the country.

We are so fortunate we bought seven years ago, as "Telecommuters" have discovered they don't have to live in New Jersey and work from home. Any property you would want to live in is sold the first day it's listed, for above asking price.

I have done a good bit of improvements, the best is a 200 yard rifle range that is a short hike or ATV ride up the hill behind the house.

Lots of steel targets:

A small cabin we built at the rifle range:

We developed a four spot RV park close to the road so if relatives come with a camper, they can hook up to electricity, water and septic. We also rent out two of these spots to give us a little income:

"If you build it, they will come". My 40 year old Nephew is moving here to be close to us, bringing his children of course. I have enjoyed having his oldest boy (14 years old) stay with us during the Summer months, they love mountain recreation. He closes on his house around the first of November.....

Boy howdy! I said it before and I'll say it again.
Nice spread ya got there.

Little sad to see comments from some of our Absent Comrades.

And sad to see some comments on how gun friendly Virginia is and how that has changed over the years.

Time marches on and waits for no one.

PM me contact info for your camping. We're always looking for a place to drag the trailer. I have a friend in that neck of the woods.
Does that include range privileges? Lol

Wow looks you're liking it even better than you thought you would lol
Good for you to have the foresight , and the work ethic to make it happen
Sure looks nice there
