Can't find Bill Davis grips

I believe you will only find the Bill Davis rubber grips in a used grip box. Speedwell bought the molds I believe. I run the Bill Davis style rubber grips on all of my competition guns and I used to get the from Brownell's but they have been sold out for some time. The last set of Davis style grips I bought I found at Arizona Gun Runners Firearm accessories Police Equipment Galco Holsters Streamlight Flashlights Pelican Watertight Cases and a full array of Military and Police Gear.

Note that there is a slight difference between to original Bill Davis grips and the newer ones, the rubber compound has changed. The Davis grips were a stiffer rubber compound while the newer grips are considerably softer. They do provide a "grippy" surface even when a bit wet.

You might send an email to Bill and Arlene Davis at AJ Shotgun Accessories - [email protected] - and ask if they have any.

They don't have them on their web site anymore, but may have some laying around somewhere.

The Davis grips were bought out by Speefeed. I got a couple of pair from Midway last year. I just checked midway and they no longer show having them in stock. I went to the speedfeed web cite. Speedfeed is now owned by Safariland. When you go to Safariland's
web cite and look for speedfeed products it bounces you back to the speedfeed web cite. Speedfeed shows on there web cite that they have the Davis grips for K and L frame S&W. Hope this helps - Paul

From my research so far....SafaryLand, who bought SpeedFeed, has discontinued the Bill Davis grips.

Too bad, it is a good product. I have a pair on my PPC model 10 (open) and wanted to equip my model 15 for distinguished matches.

To KAC: I saw the web site you mentioned in Arizona. They show the short model, not the long one with 2 screws. Will call them up to verify.

Thanks a lot for your replies.

if I recall shipping through Arizona G/R was ridiculous for the davis grip.

i checked the website and they list the large grip for $30 and shipping is $12 (UPS).

Just received an e-mail from Bill Davis. Safariland discontinued the Davis Grips. I guess not a big enough seller for them. Bill is trying to bring them back, maybe just a short run. I'll re-post when I hear more.

I TALKED WITH BILL DAVIS AT THE SHOTSHOW LAST MONTH. HE WAS TRYING TO BUY THE RIGHTS BACK FROM SAFARILAND. IF IT WORKS OUT THEY WILL BE BACK ON THE MARKET IF NOT SAFARILAND HAD NO INTENTION OF MAKING ANY MORE. JP

P.S.
SO HONESTLY IF YOU CAN FIND THEM ANYWHERE, I WOULD BUY THEM. I HAD BID ON SEVERAL PAIR SON E BAY AND SUCH AND THEY ALL WENT FOR $35 PLUS A PAIR.

'OH' FOR THE BROWNELLS PRICE OF $9.99 A PAIR

New e-mail from Bill Davis. He has around 40 sets of large grips. They are not listed on his web site but you can call 916-997-7675 and order them, after 2PM PST today, Feb. 8, 2011. No idea what they will cost, but this is it until/if he can get the rights back from Safariland.

Thanks KAC for the email tip. Talked to him yesterday on the phone and ordered some. Very nice person to talk to.

My friend is a PPC High Master and was jealous when he heard I talk to Bill Davis. Mr. Davis told me he shoots as well as before but not as fast :)
