Ok time for a story
Years ago the first gunshop I worked at also happened to be the only indoor range in town (Springfield MO)
Now Springfield is also the home of the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, and we have had some notable characters among the population.
One of the more notable guests of this fine facility was none other than Hustler magnate Larry Flint.
Now when old Larry was brought to town he had a enterogue (?) of body guards with him.
The main bodyguard was a charachter known only as Captain Pink.
Now those were the days of few gunshops (not counting the mart marts) in Springfield, and as stated before, only one indoor shooting range.
Somehow Captain Pink and the boys found us. Well they decided since the big guy was in the pokey some of the time on their should be devoted to target practice (used loosely here).
This was prior to the days of the auto-loader trend so most were armed with short barreled Model 10's and Chief Spls. For some reason Pink didnt have a sidearm or didnt wanto use it (memory fade), but we had an old Model 15 we used as a loaner which he took a liking to. Every night for a week the gang would come in the shop (we would shut down for them) and shoot 1,000+ rds of 38 spls. I bet that old 15 had 2000 rds shot through it that week. He offered us an exorbant amount of money for it but wanted it under the table, so we kept it. They became such good customers we broke out some of the Class 3 stuff (Mac-10's, Thompson's, and Uzi's) and let them shoot them (they bought the ammo).
After a week they left, leaving us with a LOT of empty 38spl brass among others.
They also left some campaign buttons with a naked gal with red stilletto heals wrapped around the capital dome and the words "Larry Flint for President"...wish I still had that button, probably big time Ebay material.
Almost forgot..there were rumors that Captain Pink was boning the Wardens daughter, but I cant sunstaniate
