Car accessory "back in the day"?

My MINT 1962 Dodge Polara had a reverb in it--what sound!!

...reminds me of the time I spent all day modifying the hoses to the windshield squirters on my '55 Fairlane. See, I had a particularly obnoxious pal who thought he was God's gift to women. We were double-dating that night (the boys always rode up front) and I figured it would be pretty funny payback if the front of his pants got all wet while we were driving to the diner.

I was right.

This one, owned and driven by me in the late '60s to mid-'70s, didn't NEED no stinkin' accessories!

how old are you guys ?
they used to make cars with no satellite and GPS ? seriously ? ha ha jes kidding.

Paladin, my guess is 65 or 66 roadster with a small block ?

I had a 65 Coupe that i bought in August 96, a week after i turned 22. whoever ordered it originaly optioned it out pretty nice, with the 327/350 horse and a 4 speed, REAL knock offs, posi, teakwood telescoping wheel($48 and $43 options). factory AM/FM (203$) I sold it like a jerk. the insurance was more than the car payment. dang that car was FAST.

I may not be as old as you think El Toro!
My Dad was just a cheap p***k and could make something run forever! (I think his son turned out likewise?) My big "upgrade" was to a 1959' Studebaker Lark, from the 48' Champion. Both the cars were purchased second hand from a Great Uncle on Mom's side of the family. Driven and maintained by my Dad till I was deemed "worthy" of buying it third hand? Funny thing was, both the 48' and the 1960 had one thing in common. The flat head 6 cylinder was the identical engine in BOTH! The only "performance enhancement" was having a 12 volt electrical system? Needless to say, this spurred me on to the balance of my misspent youth shoving ridiculous Chrysler V8's into even more ridiculously sized Dodge Darts, at the most ridiculous Dodge dealership on the planet! When I wasn't busy falling off a Limey bike of one ilk or another?

My dad liked studebakers too. Dad had a 32 president, I belive also a 34, 41 & 42 commanders, I inherited the 42 for my 1st car, also had the 50 champ starlight coupe, dad also had a scotsman and the last lark made. I had a spoiled rich cousin that had a avanti.

Like bummer wrote
Wing windows and floor vents
Also the foot operated light dimmers. And the forerunner of the cruise control, a setting on the speedometer which if you exceeded that speed it activate a buzzer that worked pretty well. My Mom had that on a about 1965 Buick Lesabre.

Or a 65' Wildcat, or a 65' Riviera GS or a 65' Special GS, or.... Um? Sorry!?
Those mid 60's Buick/Pontiac/Olds were some sentimental favorites!
(EDIT) With apologies? For calling the Skylark GS (above) the Special GS? 45 year old tapes? Ooops!
