Hey guys, a bit new to the gun scene. Kind of accidental enthusiast now honestly, had plans to purchase a firearm after turning 21 but never really got serious about it, did some sidework on a couple peoples cars and they just happened to pay me with handguns haha. They also both happened to be S&W's hence why i joined. After these i've started to research more and more, good friend of mine is an avid gun collector and practically a walking encyclopedia, has probably 30 or so M1's from all different era's and probably over 100 different weapons so i've been using him for most of my knowledge gathering but i figured since car forums can help you gain a lot of specific brand knowledge then why not try it out with the gun world as well.

First gun I acquired is an M&P 9 full size, has TRU-DOT night sites and lightened trigger. Also has a trigger mod to where i no longer have to use the take down lever for dis assembly. Very fun shooter and have really taken a liking to the M&P's.

Second gun I acquired is really what I'm most proud of, its a S&W Model 19-4 2.5" barrel .357 Magnum in nickel finish. It has the S&W target sites and what i believe to be the S&W combat grips. I'm the 3rd owner of the gun, i know the name of the original owner but i believe he has passed away, he was a NC Highway Patrolman and used it as a duty weapon but luckily for me didnt shoot it much. Its in gorgeous condition, only thing "off" is the front sight was retouched with yellow paint covering the factory red. From the little searching I've down online and from a few people I've talked to I believe this gun to have been ordered with these grips as well as the sites, the grips were the biggest question since i can't find really any others with the same, which is kind of good for me i guess haha. But this really is my baby, doubt I'll ever sell it, shot it a few times but its in such good shape I'd really just like to hold on to it and only shoot it on occasion.

Let me know what you guys think. I also have a Beretta 21a in .22 which is a fun little toy and a Rossi 5 shot .38 Special Revolver, both of which I'm trying to sell to help fund my 1911 purchase but more motivated to sell the Rossi then the Beretta, its just a cool little piece haha.

Welcome and nice looking guns. Also kinda new here and gave up cars for my first gun rcently. Looking at M&P 9c or a 60 as my next gun after buying a 67 first.

Thanks guys, I wouldn't mind getting some messages with offers, would give me an idea of what it's worth if I ever do have to sell it.

And max I'll have to check out that thread.

If I get around to it I'll have to post up some pictures of some of my projects, I'm not really a branded car guy, I started with a Trans Am moved to a BMW and then got a Subaru haha. All have there stron points which made me love them all, I don't feel lie one should just limit there love to one group, they all have something to offer haha

STIguy, welcome from North Carolina. Worked on a lot of cars but nobody ever offered a gun for payment:(

Haha I'm in Charlotte myself, just so happened to get a couple of Subaru guys wanting work done and just happened to pay me with guns...and so the sickness begins haha. I started my own parts selling business and that's how they came around, my slogan should be "Will work for weapons", might have found my niche haha.

Hello and Welcome from another who enjoys cars and guns.

Long ago (21 for me was Vietnam era), I figured out that a Ferrari was a bit out of my price range, but that high quality firearms were a nice fit.

I occasionally "look around" at revolvers (thus only a few posts on this forum), but mostly I've come to treasure fine, custom-made 1911s.

Many firearms enthusiasts decide to specialize in one type of firearm; others enjoy collecting a wide diversity of firearms. Either way, it's a lot of fun. Welcome to the world of firearms collecting and shooting !!

Welcome from Texas STiGuy. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Nice S&W's you have there, love the 19-4.
