I finally found a set of N frame MOPs, got them for right at a C-note. They fit so-so on my Model 28 but are for a pre-war N frame.

They have a nice sheen over most of the panel, but have been dulled along the back edge, where they rub on the heel of the palm. Is there anything I can do to bring them back to full luster? Where the grips make contact with the gun there appears to be a few rust stains. Any idea how to clean those stains?

Now I guess I need to find a pre-war N frame to make the MOPs happy.

did you find the thread recently on How to Clean M.O.P. Stocks? or How to Clean my Pearls? Some detail and suggestions are given.

Thanks.

I hadn't seen that thread, or any thread regarding cleaning of MOPs and didn't think about trying the search in my "just woke up" state.
