How many of you guys have your optics mounted on your handles? That is how I have mg 3-9x now, and it butter smooth co-witnesses, but the little lady is getting me the eotech 512 for Xmas.
I've only seen those flat rail mounted. Any experience with carry handle options for holo or red dots out there?

I have my 3-9x mounted on a see-thru riser which lets me use both scope and iron sights! A riser would probably work for a red dot, too.....;)

I have a good see thru mount for my scope, too. Most of the 512s I see on ARs have the sight mounted halfway onto the hand guard. I'm not sure, maybe it works better that way.
To mount it like that on a carry handle, it would look real goofy.
I would hate to get another handle mount for nothing (my other one is ringed for scopes only) but I guess it's the only way to know for sure.

Not a chance you can cowitness anything on top of a M16/AR15 carry handle. On a flattop, usually, but probably not a 3-9x scope.

For an Eotech you need a with a riser to cowitness effectively so you can see the pattern without looking thru the sights. The 553 comes with the right riser built onto the mount. As does the Aimpoint CompM4 with the GI mount.

This works pretty well for me...

Note the extra battery under the 100 mph tape. Be sure you use non-metallic tape and secure to a fiberglass or polymer frame section or it will be drained when you need it most....

Not sure how well it works for you, but I don't let anyone think the dot on top of the handle is co-witnessed with the irons. Coaxial isn't the same.

On my only handled carbine I run the dot co-witnessed by use of a handle mounted rail puts the dot sight out over the front handguard.

I'm using the ARMS mount but this less expensive Command Arms version should work. Muzzle toward the left.
