Carry/only shoot revolvers?

I must say, I'm a 1911 and Glock nut from way back, as well as a revolver afficianado. I've many examples of each.

The more and more I become proficient with revolvers, and realize their efficacy as concealed carry firearms, they more I'm swayed toward carrying ONLY the revolver.

Does anyone else CCW only a revolver?

I was trained by Gunsite, and the Yavapai County Sheriff's Dept. deputies, that the 1911 and Glock are both very viable defensive weapons.

I like the revolver moreso.

Close, but not quite. I have a P3AT in my line up that sees occasional use. Other than that, yes, I carry all revolvers. That includes a NAA .22 lr. 1 1/8" mini to a 5" 629 with full power ammo and several in between.

Remember, however, the auto is a useful tool that should not be ignored.

I've been carrying revolvers exclusively for CCW the last 39 years. I'm not about to change. I load my aluminum J frame with THIS.. My steel K frame carries THIS.

Not exclusively by any stretch, I carry a Glock 31 or Ruger SR9 80% of the time. The remaining time is one or another 10mm Glocks either a G20 or G29 depending on my mood and dress.

But I carry a S&W PC L-Comp in spells (going through one now actually) and my BUG and sometimes primary is a S&W 342 Ti. I don't care for the small Keltecs, although we own several, I'm not sure of their reliability, accuracy, and effectiveness. The .38 Spl. makes me much more comfortable.

And for what it is worth, my next purchase will likely be either an SP-101 or GP-100. Whichever I decide upon will be sent to Gemini Customs for some work to make it "mine." Then it will be put into the rotation.

I guess I walked around your question, but yes, I'm carrying a revolver more than I used to, and planning to carry one even more. Part of the reason is because as I get a little closer to middle age, my left thumb is increasingly unable to function well enough to operate the slide on some of my semi's. And it will obviously get worse with age. Hence, I'm already starting to practice and rely more on revolvers. The damage to the thumb is significant enough to affect my ability to grip and retract the slide.

I've always shot semi's better, so I need to adapt. I sure don't feel undergunned with a 7-shot .357 magnum L-Comp!

Not only, but interchangeably with my semi-auto handguns. I regularly carry a 3" Model 65 and a Model 36.

I carry a Airweight 637-2 99% of the time. If I'm dressed where I can't I have an LCP. I feel better having the 38 spl +p's. I don't feel the need to go to war; just defend my family or myself for the remote possibility of something bad happening. I always try to be aware of my surroundings.

For the last few years, I have carried only revolvers, mostly because that's what I have been practicing with, but also because I carry daily, and do not care for loading and unloading an auto daily, or every time I change arms.

I often carry a revolver and own several S&W revolvers. Those my age will well remember when the choice to carry was either a 1911, a Luger or a revolver. Most preferred a revolver. Of course back in the 60s concealed carry permits were hard to obtain.

While I also carry semi autos, my heart is with the .357 revolver.

I was in another city recently and met with the police chief there. He still carries a S&W 38 special as his sidearm. It is rare to see a LEO carrying a revolver but they work better than semi autos.

Revolvers are all I own. A 640 fits real nice in my right front pocket. Sometimes a 646 with the hammer bobbed off rides iwb. If I'm carrying owb, it'll be a 4" 625 or 6" 686. S&W revolvers are what I was taught with, and they're what I've always been drawn towards. PC revolvers make me especially crazy.

5, 6, 7 (sometimes 8) revolver rounds for sure is better than any number of not-so-for-sure semi-auto rounds. Not that I always exclude semi's, but I always like a revolver for starters.

Since getting my CCW permit a year and a half ago, I've carried only revolvers (Ruger Speed Six 2 3/4" or a 642). I have, however, recently acquired a CZ75 P-01 autoloader which I've used only at the range so far. This primarily due to shooting/practicing with a group of folks using exclusively autoloaders with the drills all oriented for those guns. Once I get 1000 rounds downrange with zero failures, I may try carrying it as well. It's lighter than the Ruger and seems to conceal just a tad better. Of course, with shorts and T-shirt, the 642 will continue to ride in my pocket as my EDC during the warm months in NH.

well for a while I carried a model 15-2 but then I started packing autos unless I needed a 'tuckable' gun and went with my 638. now I am all 1911 and that doesn't rotate much, but that 15 was a great shooter!

Even though my forum name and avatar indicate auto, I'm a die hard revolver fan and that's what I carry. I enjoy shooting the autos and just enjoy shooting the 1911's. At times have my 9mm or 10mm Glock in the vehicle on road trips but I carry a revolver on my side.

Usually one of these .357's with 158 grain JHP's

sometimes in a pocket or ankle holster with .38 spl. 158 grain +P LSWCHP's

Always have a J-frame in a pocket and prefer a revolver as a primary carry gun, but sometimes carry a semi-auto for various reasons.

More often than not, revolvers but Glock sometimes. Carry what you can shoot well and that you will actually carry.

In the winter I carry a 65 3" on an OWB holster with a HKS speedloader filled with Buffalo Bore 158gr LSWCHP 38+Ps, same thing I carry in the 65. This load shoots POA for the 65.

In summer I carry a Colt DS made in 83, in a front pants or shorts pocket, in a Galco pocket holster, loaded with the old FBI 158gr LSWCHP load and an extra six on a speed strip in the other front pocket. That's it, no autos, one common drill for use.

The only semi-auto I own is a Ruger Mark II w/ a 6-7/8" barrel. It's a little heavy and unwieldy to lug around all day.
