I picked up some old empty 10 ga brass shells at a garage sale today. They are early Winchester and UMC Bridgeport. All are boxer primed and no cracks or dents, but are pretty cruddy looking. I am wondering if I should try to clean them up or not. (I don't know the protocol for cartridge case collecting.:o)
Anyway I have some chemical case cleaner (Birchwood Casey) and a vibrator type cleaner. (Also 0000 steel wool, if necessary.)
Or should I just leave them alone? The object is to make them saleable if I can find out what they might be worth........

If you want to clean them, go to Youtube and type in Cleaning 10 Gauge Brass Shotgun Shells -- Larry Potterfield of Midway has a neat little video on it.

As for value to collectors, I've seen these at cartridge collector shows and they are usually inexpensive. Like Potterfield, folks want them to load for use in an old shotgun.

How many do you have? I have an old 10 ga Remington, and have been thinking about getting some brass hulls for it.

I have 10 in all. (Nine 2 5/8" and one 2 7/8"). They all cleaned up nice.
Also have a primer seater and a ring extractor for them.
I'll try to get some pictures up later. I'm still trying to figure out what they're worth.

WTB K22 or model 17. Must be in good shape and lock up tight. A little wear is OK but rust or a pitted bore isn't. Price should be reasonable.

Oh wait.... Dang this ain't the classifieds.

Two posts and I'm already in trouble..
After belatedly reading the sticky's, I understand why. Apologies to all who may have been offended.
