Caught this brood trout today while bass fishing in a lake that stocks in the spring time.

Was using a chatterbait and walking the bank since there is plenty of brush and cover that you can get to without a boat.

Didn't weight it but I'm sure it was over 3lb or so.

I think it's a brown, the locals said thats what they were stocking anyway. Brookies that I've seen have a little more color around here. Don't trout fish much so I could be totally off base here.
The rainbows are pretty obvious though!

I'm sure it will taste great no matter what kind it is! Will we be getting a picture of it all cooked up with side dish and complimentary gun in the picture?

Too late! It's already IN MAH BELLY!, actually it fed like 5 of us!
I promise the next one will have pics with cole slaw, veggies and a nice imported beer. THe gun will have to be something classy like a 3" 629 or 1911.

Hey, it looks like at least four pounds to me! I mean, if you didn't actually weigh it, and the evidence has already been consumed, go for the higher estimate! It was so big the picture must weigh a pound and a half!

What---are y'all all on a diet or what! Oh I'm sorry, I see you're not from here

Fish like that would have been cooked and eaten as hors d'euves while we were cooking the main course

Seriously though, I bet that sucker would taste good stuffed with some crabmeat with a nice bordelais sauce-some steamed asparagas-parsley potatoes and a nice white zinfendel.

Wow! Nice one there! Was it full of eggs/roe?
Mine was full of roe and had quite a few eggs.

I may have to up the estimate on mine. I'm sure it was 20" or thereabouts. I didn't weigh or measure it, therefore I can keep a straight face no matter how it big gets in the retelling!
GrandPa said that was the mark of a true fisherman...
