Instead of rear ended, I got front ended

Mr. Faulkner, I'm sorry you got "front ended" but I'm glad there were no injuries. I enjoyed your post, it was a good one, like they always are, even though you got hit. The part about Daisy is what made it good. And the pic of her in her new carrier made it special. She has a good face and a terrific "smile". She looks sooo happy. All-in-all it made me feel good. I always enjoy your posts.

We have a lightweight bull bar on our truck too.

Interesting that it also has been front ended twice, saving my truck's front end each time.

It has more than paid for itself!

Faulkner your story reminds me of an incident that happened about three months ago. I was driving the hospital security vehicle on my rounds and stopped at a light (around 2200hrs). Only one vehicle ahead of me at the light. All of a sudden the back up lights come on and a shiny newer chevy SUV backs into me at speed! Totaled the "patrol" car out. I was afraid the driver was drunk and would run but she stuck around and apologized. City PD came and took the report. An employee's mother drove by and told her daughter I had rear ended a car! In the end it worked out great-the car was a piece of junk and we got a much better replacement. My co-workers informed me they owe me lunch! Lol

Bull bar story.

When I purchased my Tacoma about 10 years ago, one of the first things added was a Bull bar. Not long afterward I was heading down I-25 near Socorro, NM. Just then, an item came hurtling downwards and I thought it was going through my windshield. It hit with a sickening thump on the front of the truck, and a shower of feathers shot out. In the rear view mirror I saw the carcass of a hawk bounce off the pavement.

I pulled over, and noticed that the hawk had smacked directly into the Bull bar. Guess that it was diving after some prey, and didn't notice the truck that was going to converge on its target at 75 MPH. Without the Bull bar, my front grill would have been wrecked. As it was, all I needed was a trip to the car wash.
