$407 shipped new w/o safety. I had to. Ordered a HiViz FO front sight for $25 too. Pics once I have it in hand.

Once they start coming in black I'll be interested

it's a range gun, especially in that size, so color is of no concern. I'll probably run it in some IDPA matches this summer too.

Picked it up today (SKU11989) and was saddened to see S&W is cheaping out and shipping guns in black cardboard boxes rather than plastic cases now ALA SD9VE series guns. Not cool for $400+

LOVE my black 5 inch pro with an Apex Flat Faced trigger and sear kit, it is real close to my Canik SFX to as far as the triggers feel, the Canik is still better, almost scary!

My M&P 9mm 5inch is my EDC. It is on my hip as I type this. In Texas, I carry it openly in a Safariland 7TS ALS with Guard and QLS.

Mine came in the blue plastic SW case just like the revolvers do. I honestly think the packaging is up to the distributors sometimes. Because when I worked in gun sales our Smiths always had cases and then the shop my buddy worked at had cardboard on everything but revolvers.

that's stupid ^^^ on S&W's part

Anyways, here it is with the new front sight installed

I want one with a thumb safety!

The safety version has the huge loaded chamber indicator which I don't want. Nor should it be there IMHO.

I'm thinking about TFX sights for mine.

I have no need for night glow on a gun this size that I wouldn't carry. This is a range toy and a potential IDPA gun.

Mine came with a safety and I removed it. S&W provided me with the plugs for fill in. The FDE colored ones were back ordered so I took the black.

What brand trigger is that?
I have the same gun.

That is the best 5" polymer pistol on the market.
For the price nothing comes close.

Due51 that's an apex trigger.
The best polymer pistol trigger I've ever shot .

Canik vs M&P ? I have only shot 1 canik, from that experience I think you'd be better off comparing a canik to a Glock. Neither of which I would ever trade an M&P for.

I think the 2.0 5" w/o safety is going to 'follow me home' in the next month or so!
I really like my 3.6" and expect the long-slide will be more fun at the range.

They are a good gun. Very accurate out of the box. But when you add the Apex trigger, it brings other also great pistols into focus. I spent more for my full size P320, for example, but it did not need anything else. My 5" 2.0 really needed the Apex trigger to equal the stock 320 trigger. I'd call them pretty close to equal now in my hands.

The 320 should have a amazing trigger it's almost $200 more . I just checked gunbuyer.com. I stand by what I said . You will not find a better gun with more features for the price. With an Apex trigger in a m&p you have almost as much invested in the M&P. However the M&P with Apex trigger destroys the stock 320 trigger .

I own both of those guns, just as you describe. Stock 320 full size, 5" 2.0 M&P with the Apex trigger. I shoot them side by side pretty often. And I disagree with your assessment. As I said above, I consider them very equal. Triggers are equally good on each gun now and both are very similarly accurate and fun to shoot.

I have both as well. I like the Apex better (acknowledge personal preference). However my P320 didn't go in yet for the recall. Is yours a fixed one?

Yes, mine has the upgrade done. It came from the factory new with the upgrade already done.
