I bought a 50 round box of CBC 7.62x51 and i am not recommending it. I had 2 failures to feed and my groupings were terrible. If you want something cheap that goes bang they are ok, if you are looking for consistency stay away.

I have had problems with that ammo as well. I would throw HSM in the not recommended pile too. It has actually been worse than the CBC for me, about 1 out of 3 fail to feed. I might try both again down the road when the gun gets broken in a little better, but as of right now I won't be buying any more. No problems at all with PMC .308, American Eagle .308, Winchester 7.62, and Fiocchi .308. All 147 or 150 grain.

I've also used PMC 308 FMJBT , American Eagle 308 FMJBT , Remington UMC 308 Ball and Magtech 308 Ball anywhere between 147 and 168 grain depending on what was available and had no failures with any of them.

It shot just ok out of my 308 garand but I was only using it just to get me on paper for a new rifle. It however is an absolute NO GO in my 308 savage, can't even chamber it in that which is not uncommon as I found out. I kept the brass and checked the length after and found it to be 2.025+ which is WAY long and maybe the reason it wont chamber in the tighter savage.
