hello, do any of you carry at work?
I was wondering how and what you carried.
im a plumber and heat a/c.
I have been carring iwb. either my shield or model 60.
around noon when my jeans start getting loser it starts getting uncomfortable. then I feel like Im always messin with it.
I cant really carry owb because obviously im leaning over a lot and your shirt rides up to your belt. might give a homeowner a heart attack.
anybody else in my shoes?

Ya I have to conceal my shield appendix carry. I'm up and down a latter and leaning over alot also. Up front with a tshirt and I'm usually fine. I use a remora holster. What's nice is u can make quick adjustments without anyone noticing

When I'm working in the hospital I often wear scrubs and carry a J frame in a Renegade ankle holster. Stays well concealed and is very comfortable.

You might consider different pants. My uniform pants are 5.11 and they come with a pocket sewn to the pant leg inside the cargo pocket. It is sewn down the middle so you can carry two AR-15 mags but it works perfect for a J frame. The gun is well hidden and secure, the cargo pocket has a Velcro flap. That's where I carry my BUG when on duty.

I haven't changed the way I dress since I received my permit. wear the same jeans and t shirts. I want to keep it that way, everybody would know something was up if I changed my clothing style after all these years.
carrying outside of work is a piece of cake.
some days at work are easy as well, depends on what im doing.
last week I was replacing a customers sewer in her yard, being 90 out and climbing in and out of a 10 ft deep hole all day makes it not so comfortable sometimes. Friday I roughed in plumbing for a new store going in and the owner and all the concrete guys were there. Bending over digging and plumbing and sweating all day is a pain when your worried about your gun showing. I might have to try something different.

I'm outside, inside and in the shops. I work at a transport company. Carry all day, every day glock 19 iwb 24-7/365. It does help somewhat that most people there know I carry.

yes that would help if most people knew.
the problem I have is that it took quite a stink at work with my employer to even carry on the job. he wanted no part of it. he was afraid that it would be a liability to his pocket book if something should ever happen. so I told him he can explain to my wife and kids that I was dead because he was worried about what it would cost him if I had to defend my self on the job. anyway.. I took about 2 months and me not letting it drop and he came around. im thankful for that. I don't want that right takin away from me because a customer saw my gun and has a fit about it and calls the boss. that would probably start a war. most of our customers wouldn't care, but you never know

No I didn't have anything like that. I just started carrying and that was that. Never asked, didn't feel I needed to. Thing is most people at my work simply don't care. They are not pro or anti gun. To them it's just irrelevant.

Would you consider carrying the 60 in a pocket holster?

I got it licked. I dont work. My truthful answer no one here wants to hear. For right or wrong, I would have a good hiding place in the truck. No way I would do a active job like that and pack all day. Unless you are working in no mans land I would be content to have the gun nearby. You can hit by a meteorite too. Life is a gamble. Forever I have been lucky and really had some sense of smell if a situation was starting. But then again my entire life I have put my faith in God.

Anything around the waist is no good for me as my tool belt (electrician) interferes. I have a Bianchi leather shoulder holster that needs a vest or jacket. Way to much bother. Ankle? Nah. 2 months ago I bought a NAA Wasp and have had it in my left front pocket in my homemade pocket holster every moment I've been dressed except when practicing with it. So yes, I carry to work, church, everywhere. Next time I get paid a substantial amount I will be ordering the Kangaroo Carry holster to wear under my button down shirts I wear all the time. I won't stop carrying my Wasp but will add my 640 to the mix. We'll see how often, I'm very hopeful it will work well. The 640 in my homemade pocket holster was just a tad to much and hard to retrieve from jeans. I'm sure the KC will work with my tool belt, even with the suspenders I wear. 98% of the time button down shirts with t shirt underneath, winter, summer, motorcycle riding, = Kangaroo Carry.

Stay safe, John

Not I. The physical activity of my job, which sometimes includes having to lay on my back and/or crawl in confined spaces, more or less precludes it. Ankle holster? Not likely as I'm required to wear 6" composite toe boots. Pocket holster? Not in Dickies twill uniform pants, I won't. The stuff I usually carry in my pockets can get a little uncomfortable as it is, and there's also the very real possibility it might slip out of my pocket due to physical activity. IWB? I like to keep my Dickies shirt tucked in, and the likelihood that it'd get exposed is pretty high due to, you guessed it, physical activity.

You truckers, residential tradesmen and locksmiths have it so easy. :D

You have no idea what we locksmiths do.;)

Most days aren't too active for me physically. But there are days where I'm also on my back on the floorboard of a car working on the ignition. Or climbing a ladder, bending, stooping, kneeling, or working overhead.

I have a pistol box in my work van. Sometimes I use it.

Here is my CC rig:

The black part and the belt are shark skin, the brown is bull hide. :D

Once I retire, this will change.

I also put my faith in God, He has and always will take care of my family and I. He promises that
