OK, you have to go to Phoenix, Az in August for a month. It is 110 degrees in the shade. You are staying at your cousins house and they have the following to loan you for CC. Consider how you will be dressing. Choose one and why.

S&W 351 PD - 7 shot .22 magnum J frame
Kahr P380 - 6 shot .380 acp
NAA 1 5/8" barrel 22 magnum - 5 shot
Bowie knife - 9 inch blade
taser
rock
pepper spray
other

I'm going with the 351 PD bec I'm in shorts, t shirt, hat, sandals and that's it. Hey, life's unfair and these are your only choices. At least you have "other".

Went with the Kahr .380 just because of caliber. J frame would have been my "other " choice if something in a little larger caliber.

I'll take the Kahr. Seven rounds, bigger bullets, less bulk! But that 351PD would be pretty fun to shoot.

Rock, go someplace where there are many rocks and you will not stand out... or run out of ammo. :)

I am a much better shot w/ my 351PD than my P3AT...so I assume I would not be any better with the Kahr.

The 9" bowie would be a lot easier on my ears.

If your J frame was 38sp, I would have picked it quickly.

As is, my vote went to the Kahr P380 - 6 shot .380 acp

This little guy. Its an old Freedom Arms 4 shot mini revolver in .22 Mag. Similar to the NAA Mini. I used to carry this as a hide out weapon back when I was a road trooper. It, carried in my shirt pocket, along with a Walther .380 in my boot, and a S&W 586 on my hip made for a comforting feeling. I always figured if I had to use that little firecracker, even if it didn't stop the bad guy, he would be easily identified by the powder burns on his face...

I live in Phoenix, and I carry my Glock 19/23/32 all summer long, and I'm in shorts 98% of the time. In fact, some days I carry my Glock 20. Not that difficult with a decent holster & belt.

Therefore, I voted "other".

Since most folks can't run in sandals, much less move sideways, the first issue should be getting more appropriate footwear.

Barring that, pick something with rounded edges that won't hurt much when they remove it at the ER.

The 351PD is likely the most effective of that lot.

Regards,

Pat
