Very glad to receive some 22 ammo but CCI seems to have
cut cost on the new boxes but it has been five years since I
bought ammo so maybe I am not up on the new containers used.

I was glad that I had some old 100 round plastic boxes saved
for unknown reasons.......... glad I was a pack rat and went to
work, transferring 200 rounds into the hard plastic easy to use containers.

Bought the heavy 40 gr. LRN in hopes that they might do better than the little
29 gr. CB Long that I am now using for pest control, with better accuracy.
Just hoping that they do not over penetrate, since they are not a HP design.

If they work out I may post pictures...........later.

I also moved away from the CB rounds for pests other than sparrows. Also did not like the results from the Quiet Low Velocity rounds for squirrels and rabbits, moving back to the trusty Short HP but am running low on them.

I do the same thing. Picked up 5 boxes of CCI Standard Vel at Gander, got there early before the shelves got empty. Took them home and transferred them over to the old plastic cases. I shoot a Ruger Mk II and a 10-22 with ten round mags. Just slide the plastic lids back two rows and 10 round fall out neatly.

Surprisingly, Gander also had CCI .22 Shotshells, have not seen them in years. A little steep in price for a box of twenty, $7.99 sale price, ended up getting two boxes.

Mini-mags still come in the plastic containers. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to have a stash of cci boxes.

All the mini mags I have seen, still come in the 100 rd plastic box..Also the 22 WMR in plastic..
I saw both just last week..

Remember when we used to get .22 ammo in paper boxes, no dividers of any type.

I remember those very well, especially the Winchester yellow boxes that were prominently marked on the end flap of the little carton in big red letters: RANGE 1 MILE BE CAREFUL

I do like the CCI plastic boxes of today, though, for the pure handiness of them, not to mention the quality of the ammo they contain. :)

I HAVE NEVER SEEN MINI MAGS IN THE 50 ROUND BOXES. TO BE HONEST, HOWEVER, I HAVE ONLY BEEN SHOOTING MINI MAGS FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. BEFORE THAT, I WAS SHOOTING CCI STANDARD VELOCITY AND I NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO ANY OTHER VARIETY. THE STANDARD VEL CAME IN THE BLUE CARDBOARD BOXES. I HAVE GREAT DIFFICULTY OPENING THE PLASTIC, 100 ROUND BOXES. (I'M PARALYZED ON ONE SIDE, AND I HAVE ARTHRITIS IN MY "GOOD" HAND.) A SHOOTING BUDDY HAS TO START THE BOX FOR ME. I LIKE THEM BECAUSE 2 ROWS--10 ROUNDS--FILLS MY 617 CYLINDER, BUT THE CARDBOARD BOXES WORKED THE SAME WAY. THE COPPER WASHED MINI MAGS SEEM TO SHOOT CLEANER…….

I've only been shooting for going on 3 yrs now but have kept every plastic 100ct box I've stumbled upon. Heck I'll even use them for carrying around my Fed ammo that came in the bulk boxes, easy enough to apply a label when needed. Just prefer to go to the range using those 100ct boxes; as noted already it's nice and easy to slide it just a bit and get 10 rounds each time.

What's also handy, is the AR mini mags I've grabbed in bulk box form (may be the same for the Troy Landry stuff as well?) already has the ammo loaded in the 100ct plastic trays.... I just swap them into an empty plastic box and i'm ready to go.

edit: Adding since we're kinda on the subject lol. Note that Cabelas actually has CCI available with a 5 box limit, just grabbed some mini mags a few minutes ago...

Where in the heck, did you find the CCI "quiet" rounds.

Been looking for them since they came out.

johnK;

I did a search on the net and came up with Cabela's.......
talked to a lady on the phone to make sure all was ok to deliver to the house, instead of having to go to their local store to pick it up. Shipping to the house was ok, so I ordered five boxes.

I found out later that they were shipped from Utah, which was not too far from Reno Nevada..................sweet.

Good hunting.

The Cabelas that I visit seems to have CCI Quiet on the shelf most times . Check on line. Seems to be there often also.

Now I'm kicking myself for getting rid of most of my plastic boxes.
I just didn't have room for them all.
BTW, the CCI Quiet doesn't cycle my M&P22 or Ruger SR22, even suppressed. Works in the M&P15-22, though! Although, I don't think I've tried it un-suppressed.
Also BTW...the American Eagle "suppressor" ammo works just fine in everything, no issues.

The Quiet will not cycle my Marlin auto either..........

but I was able to sight in my Winchester pump in just two shots
with one for elevation and the other for windage......

Shot three & four were both touching at the bottom of my 1/4" dot at 30 feet........
my POA with a 4x scope.

This heavier 40gr at 710 fps is a lot more accurate than the CB Long 29gr that I have been using........
without flyers so far but has a little louder report.

I have several boxes,, wanna buy some?:)

You want crazy, see what the empty CCI cases go for on eBay. Between 2 and 3 bucks each

They were going around $5 about a year and a half ago. at that time you could even get $1 each for the empty cardboard 50 rounders. A fool and his money....
