After reading the various questions and responses about belts and holsters the consensus seemed to be for a heavy duty belt of about 1-1/2" width specifically made for carrying a firearm and holster. The width could vary up or down dependant upon firearm weight, method carry, type of holster.
For about a year now I have been using a leather 1 1/2" belt with velcro rather than a buckle. The velcro seems to give adequate security, infinite adjustment within range, minimizes scratching if I get near something, you know Dunlap's syndrome
! The one problem seems to be the hook portion of the velcro seems to catch fibers from shirts and faded jeans, which has to be picked out to assuage my OCD about white fibers on a black belt.
Can you share your experiences on this? Of course I recognize that the very nice belts and holsters pictured here have nice buckles to match the nice holsters shown, both new and vintage.
