CCW @ gunshop etiquette question.

If a guy pointed a gun at the owner of my Local Gun Shop he'd be leaving on a platter...because his son, and nephew, and the gunsmith in the back all carry pistols while they're working there.

What do you think would happen if you pulled your CC gun out and pointed it at a cop? I don't see why it's any different to do it inside a gun shop.

Also, I can't count how many times I have been flagged by a muzzle at a gun show, gun shop, etc. I had a loaded Glock .40 pointed at my chest by some idiot at a range, another idiot handed me a hot Springfield XD .45 muzzle first, round in the chamber..........the guy was screwing with the gun, I was one lane over standing back from my bench, taking a smoke break and I asked "what's wrong with your gun?" and he comes over and hands it to me muzzle first, so I rack the slide to clear it and a live .45 pops out of the chamber....I was like "man this gun was loaded?!?!"I just gave it back to him and was like "you need to unload guns before you hand them to people, guy"....I think the only problem was he was too stupid to operate a pistol.....

What can someone do in that situation?
Shoot him first just doesn't seem to fix that.

When the customer loaded the gun, the shop owner drew his own weapon and ordered the customer to drop the gun. The customer refused and begged the owner to shoot him. The owner called the police while the customer held the gun to his own head. The customer never threatened the shop owner, and never pointed the gun at anyone but himself. The police arrived, the owner walked out of the store, and while the police were trying to talk to the customer, he shot himself.

Clearly the guy was very disturbed...very sad situation for all concerned.

The scary thing is that the guy mentioned in the OP is an instructor and he's probably teaching others that it's ok to behave like that with a firearm. Most people have more sense than that but I'm sure some will follow in his footsteps. reporting him could be doing him a favor because that behavior will get him shot if he makes a habit of it.

There was an "instructor" at my range one time with 3 students showing them the basics. He swept me a couple of times while showing them the slide functions of an automatic. He then proceeded to insert an empty magazine and did the same, to which I made a large noticeable motion to step back but he was oblivious to what he did. Just before he was ready to insert a loaded mag, I walked over to him and asked if I might have a word. I told him he had swept me several times with the "unloaded" gun and if he inserted that mag and did it again I would file assault with intent charges against him or his corpse as he chose. He actually apologized profusely and moved to another location. His students had a strange look on their faces. I reported it to the range operator who I had known for quite some time. Never saw him back there again. You can't tolerate that sort of stuff.

Like who would ya report him too?

Who ever's in charge of licensing instructors for that state would be a good start. Not to mention brandishing his ccw as well as pointing the store gun at someone are felonies in some states and he would never be allowed to own a gun for the rest of his life.
