can anyone recommend a good site that shows local ccw laws and regulations specifically by local jurisdiction..I am on LI NY but the regs are different than in NYC..

Just go to your particular city hall, and ask for a copy of the city municipal code. In there, you should find (probably under the public safety heading), all you need to know about concealed and open carry of firearms.

However, make sure you know the state laws as well, because (at least in the case of the State of Oregon), state law preempts all local laws when the person in question has a CCW permit.

For example, there are many cities in Oregon where open carry is not allowed. However, for holders of a CCW permit, such local laws do not apply.
