CCW Statistics ???

Does anybody have the answers to the questions below?

- Throughout the U.S. how many CCW permits had been issued to date... ( I mean excluding those states where you can carry without a permit; how many individuals actually went thru the process and got issued a permit to carry concealed weapon )

- To date, are there any incidents where a peace officer got shot by a CCW permit holder?

- To date how many CCW permit holders used their guns for a criminal purpose like home invasion, bank robbery, hostage taking or carjack or any other similar offense?

- Were there any CCW permit holder caused mass shootings?

Any data available out there?

Why nobody bring this subject to the light and focus on?
I mean what percentage of this armed (CCW permit holder) group causing trouble?
Up to the anti-gun crowd if every good citizen (who wants to carry) issued a permit easily our streets will turn into old wild west.

FBI statistics says approximately 12,000 gun related murders in the U.S. in a year...

Well, how many of those murders are committed by gang members or by ex-criminals carrying a gun illegally...

I mean how many guns caused a totally law abiding citizen take a look at the gun and got up and rob a bank or start shooting in a crowded public arena just because they got the tool?

I don't have the figures you're looking for, but I can tell you this: Kentucky only became a shall-issue state about sixteen years ago, despite a culture that had long been pretty gun-friendly. When the law passed the Louisville newspaper (formerly one of the best in the country, but now a sorry rag) screamed to editorial high heaven. Innocent blood would flow in the street, etc.

Sometime around a year after the licenses (I don't like the term "permit", it sounds servile) began to be issued, the paper did a follow-up study. To their credit, they were honest enough to print it. They found that license-holders were less likely than the general public to be arrested for any reason, not just violent crimes.

By definition we are the law-abiding ones, generally speaking. Most shootings here, as in most cities, are gang- and drug-related. The weapons employed are nearly universally illegally obtained. We have a number of such shootings, like any major city; and yet our metro area of about a million people was, the last time I checked, rated as one of the safest in the country.
