Because why not? I've owned a number of 1911s over the years; a Colt .45 Combat Commander, a Series 70 .38 Super, a DCM 1911-A1, a couple Springfield Armory specimens. Frankly, even though it's an iconic design (and I believe it is now legally required to use the word iconic when discussing the 1911), I've never really felt an overwhelming attachment to them. Nonetheless, I do have a couple that are probably here to stay.

The Dan Wesson Specialist 9mm was a retirement gift from my bride, and is absolutely the sweetest shooting centerfire auto I've ever owned. The Ruger SR1911 Commander .45 came to me via a factory promotion called 4R, which awarded Ruger retailers for selling their products

I promised Pachmayr, back in the early '80s, that I'd make the chevrons and Air Force rockers, closer to authentic on the next run.
He was thinking of multi-colored rubbers.
Pic from a few years ago.
Test sample for the new grips, plus how we made the
incubative ones.
A labor of love.

My latest is a Colt Gold Cup Trophy, 45 ACP. My best shooter so far is a Sig 1911. Have 2 RIA's also. Wondering which will be next? Bob

Down to three in house. A original Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, a Colt Government Model and a Ruger SR M1911 in 10MM. The Colts are .45 ACP.

I also have extra slides and barrels to convert the M1911 Government to .38 Special, .38 Super, 9MM, 40 Cal., and a Colt Conversion Unit for .22 LR.
